After the iPhone 7 was released, statements like "nothing new" and "wait for Apple next year" flooded the screen. But Apple fans always say no, but they are very honest when it comes to purchasing: US operators say that iPhone 7 pre-sales are booming.
On September 14, Bloomberg reported that the two major U.S. carriers, T-Mobile and Sprint, had received four times the pre-orders for the iPhone 7 than the previous model.
On September 13, T-Mobile CEO John Legere commented on Twitter, “The market demand for iPhone 7 is very strong. So far (in the first four days), pre-orders have reached four times the pre-orders for iPhone 6 in the same period two years ago. ”iPhone 7 began accepting pre-orders last Friday. Legere also said that the matte black iPhone 7 is the most popular.
As if discussed, operator Sprint also stated today that pre-orders for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus during the first weekend (first three days) increased by 375% compared to last year.
Carphone Warehouse, Europe's largest mobile phone retailer, also said last week that 70% more people want to buy iPhone 7 this year than last year.
This means that iPhone 7 may surpass iPhone 6s/6s Plus and become Apple’s best-selling mobile phone.
The operator's stance is good news for Apple, as Apple's flagship products have declined for two consecutive quarters. In the financial report for the second quarter of 2016, Apple's iPhone sales dropped to 40.4 million units from 47.5 million units in the same period last year, and revenue fell 27% year-on-year. The market's wait-and-see sentiment was serious. Apple desperately needs iPhone 7 to revive the market.
Data from operators endorsed iPhone 7 at the most appropriate time. Apple's previous announcement that it would break with convention and no longer release first-weekend sales figures heightened skepticism. Apple's performance outlook for this quarter also shows that the company expects sales to experience a significant year-on-year decline.
Operator data has become a benchmark for outsiders to observe iPhone 7 sales. T-Mobile and Sprint are the third and fourth largest carriers in the United States. Verizon and AT&T, the top two carriers, have yet to comment on iPhone 7 sales figures. On September 13, after T-Mobile and Sprint spoke out, Apple's stock price rose by 3%.

“The operator's statement has reignited enthusiasm for Apple products. Amy Yong, an analyst at Macquarie Capital in the United States, commented, “It shows that users are still loyal to Apple products. ”
It should be noted that operators have interests tied to Apple mobile phones. The sales of Apple mobile phones are inseparable from the operators' vigorous promotion. For operators, the release of new mobile phone products is also an excellent opportunity for them to win over new users. T-Mobile and Sprint are also Apple's long-term mobile phone dealer partners. The changes in first-weekend bookings for the two operators are not yet known.
To increase sales, T-Mobile launched a promotion before launch. New and existing users can trade in iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s to get a free 32GB iPhone 7. If users want to get a larger-capacity iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, they need to pay a certain fee in advance.
Several other U.S. carriers, including AT&T, Verizon and Sprint, have also launched similar iPhone 7 free exchange promotions.
According to Bloomberg, similar to domestic operators, T-Mobile has also launched a series of activities to buy mobile phones and get free data. During the promotion period, users only need to pay US$70 per month, with a minimum payment of US$160 for a family, to purchase a mobile phone in installments, and all data charges are free. This has greatly stimulated those with strong data needs, and many people will choose to use free data to watch videos on Snapchat, YouTube and Facebook.
From the perspective of the Chinese market, on the afternoon of September 9, the day of Apple’s reservation, there was indeed a situation where the Apple server was paralyzed due to excessive traffic and the web page was paralyzed. Many people will also complain that the piano black model is difficult to get, but so far, China's three major operators have not made a clear position on the iPhone 7. On September 8, Wang Yang, research director of IHS Technology China, said in an interview with the media that there was no news from the supply chain about Apple’s additional iPhone 7 orders.
In addition to the new phone's color, configuration and other factors that have led to the demand for iPhone 6s replacements and the iPhone 7's sales, the Samsung Note 7 explosion has caused some Samsung users to transfer, which can be described as a "big gift" to Apple.
On the eve of the iPhone 7’s launch, news broke that Apple had reduced orders and lowered prices to Taiwan’s supply chain by 20%. Ming-Chi Kuo, an analyst who has been following Apple for a long time, previously revealed that the stock of iPhone 7 is not as sufficient as in previous years.
