The first Samsung Note 7 mobile phone explosion occurred in China

Samsung has always refused to recall Note 7 phones sold in mainland China due to different batteries in the past, but this explosion proves that the Chinese version is not safe?

Despite repeated assurances that there are no battery safety issues with the Galaxy Note 7, Samsung may suffer a serious "slap in the face" this time.

In the early morning of September 18, a Samsung user "Chihua You" broke the news on Baidu Note 7 Post Bar that the battery of the National Bank Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Coral Blue Edition purchased on JD.com exploded and burned during use.

"Chihuahua You" said that he was sitting on the bed playing with his mobile phone when the screen suddenly went black for no reason and the mobile phone was shaking. "I felt something was wrong and immediately threw it away. It really exploded." In other words, the phone was not charging at the time of the accident.

Tieba information shows that the user is a "hardcore member" of Note 7 Tieba. Judging from the photos posted, the accident of the machine was similar to the "explosion" situation previously exposed abroad. The screen left burnt marks and the casing of the phone was obviously deformed.

In addition, the user also posted an unboxing picture that he posted on Moments when he received the phone. Some netizens checked the Samsung official website based on the IMEI number on the packaging box that they posted, and found that the accidental damage insurance service for the phone started on September 3, and it belonged to the first batch of Note 7 shipped by the Bank of China. Therefore, if the packaging box posted corresponds to the exploding machine, the exploding Note 7 is indeed a product of the National Bank.

However, some netizens questioned that the mobile phone was not from the National Bank, because there were no pictures of the mobile phone, packaging box, and invoice. In this regard, Tieba netizen "mclay" who claims to be a friend of "Chihuahua You" posted screenshots of JD.com orders and invoice photos on Tieba to confirm.

In response to this incident, Samsung officially stated to Jiemian News that the accident is still under investigation and the specific circumstances need to be verified. The results of the investigation will be officially responded to later.

In fact, Samsung recalled all domestic Note 7 test experience machines last Wednesday. At that time, the China General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine published an announcement on its website stating that after talks between the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine and Samsung (China) Investment Co., Ltd., Samsung filed a recall plan with the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine and would recall 1,858 affected Note 7 mobile phones in mainland China starting from September 14.

Samsung China emphasized to Jiemian News at that time that because these products were test experience phones provided through channels such as Samsung’s official website Galaxy Community and trade-in before official sales on September 1, 2016, they were test phones and were not included in the scope of public sale. The National Bank version is still unaffected because it uses a different battery supplier.

However, if this "first explosion" incident is true, it means that the Note 7 of the same batch as the mobile phone may also have security risks. In addition to facing pressure to recall products from the Bank of China, Samsung's brand credibility will also be severely questioned.
